There are enough people looking for a cheap phone with θήκες κινητών to just do their job. A little communication, a little internet, no photos here and there. The basics, that is, without many requirements. The vivo Y01, the most economical vivo phone available in Greece, is addressed to them, at € 139.9 for the 3GB / 32GB version.
The device comes in a beautiful white box that includes the phone, a simple 10Watt charger and a micro USB cable. The device itself is made of plastic with the back having a slightly embossed feel. The device is not small, which is due to the large 6.51 “screen, HD + resolution (IPS, 1600×720 pixels).

On the right side and above the middle is the power button (which also works as a fingerprint reader) and a little above are the volume controls. At the top is the place to place the sim cards.
The phone is 4G and accepts two SIM cards and can also accept micro SD cards to increase the user’s 32GB of storage (with about 22GB initially available for use). Note that the phone supports wireless WiFi networks at 5Ghz. At the bottom we have the speaker which has a high volume but in this setting slightly distorts the sound, headphone output and the micro USB port.
The phone is held very well with one hand, while the fingers reach the control keys effortlessly. The screen occupies most of the front, leaving a relatively large bezel at the bottom, with the selfie camera being centrally positioned following the “tear” design, ie the screen makes a small indentation at the point of the camera. Just above the camera, there is the headset which is just as visible. In general, the facade leaves an excellent impression, offering what we call a full view display. Quality, it is nice, with sufficient brightness.

Of course, the resolution is relatively low for the screen size, but even so there is no problem during use. Their icons and titles look fine, the web pages are easy to read and generally the screen does its job. There is even a bar for setting the color temperature, with the operating system (Funtouch OS 12 over Android 12 in fact, after an update) to offer both Dark Mode and read mode (it says eye protection). The UI is very reminiscent of stock android with beautiful icons and app drawer, these are some of the key features of the UI.

The SoC, an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 with 43B of memory, ensures that the phone runs the various applications satisfactorily. As for the games part, the GPU that it integrates allows the phone to play games such as Call of Duty Mobile in a Low setting for the graphics (with no other option available). Of course, the screen resolution is low and that if nothing else helps. But what definitely has the advantage of the phone is its huge autonomy, thanks to the 5000mAh battery, you just need patience for charging due to the standard 10Watt charge.
As for the cameras now, do not expect anything special. An 8MP camera on the back and a 5MP selfie on the front have the phone, with the daytime shots being social sufficient for social but when the light falls obviously the quality drops sharply. But at least 1080p30 video is supported with both cameras!
Overall, the vivo Y01 is a simplistic device and for the money it demands it is an honest solution.
